University of portland (Concept 2)
This concept for the University of Portland reimagined what it means to be an explorer, shifting the narrative from physical travel to intellectual and spiritual discovery. Rooted in the university’s values, New Explorers positioned students as seekers of knowledge, guided by faith and curiosity to find new perspectives in everyday moments.
Through a dynamic visual identity and messaging, the campaign emphasized that exploration is not about where you go, but what you find. The design direction blended bold typography, textured collage elements, and authentic student-driven imagery to evoke a sense of discovery and personal growth. Campaign touchpoints included outdoor murals, print publications, and digital assets that invited prospective students to "look closer" and engage deeply with the world around them.
Though this direction was not ultimately selected, it showcases a compelling and modern storytelling approach to higher education branding, balancing inspiration with institutional values.
